Talking to the rich and the not so rich …

Hey Folks,

Life is moving at a lightning pace right now.  Everytime I come up for air I keep running up the stairs to check and see if the family still exists.

This week I’ve been talking to people like Brad Fallon and Andy Jenkins about getting together, working out details with Rich Schefren for his talk at jvAlert Live! Orlando, talking to Tom Beal and Mike Filsaime about launches and events and so many more people that I’ve lost count of the phone calls.

Because jvAlert Live! Orlando is just around the corner, the phone has been ringing off the hook.

One second, I’m talking to a multi-millionaire and the next second I’m answering an e-mail from Angela, who writes …

“I am at home all day long because of a disability so I can put time into a project if I understand it. My problem is….I am deaf in one ear and cannot stand talking on the phone. The few places that said they didn’t require phone calls, well, let’s just say I was always receiving phone calls. I am willing to work my butt off for someone, but I guess I just don’t have what it takes to get the ball rolling. I wish I did, because I would stop at nothing to give my loved ones a better life.”

Here’s what she really wants to know …

“Tell me this…HONESTLY…is there an online work at home business that doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg to get into and actually make money at?”

Honestly?

Yes …. But.

Always that big “but” huh.

Here’s the first “but” ….

You aren’t going to get there doing nothing.  You can read and study all day long, but if you don’t DO something, it’s not going to happen.

Today I was reminded that it is less than one year since Sterling Valentine kicked off his Joint Venture Formula project.

One year ago today, Sterling had NO list, NO partners, and NO product.

Within 93 days he had generated $101,153.00 in sales.  Now he’s sold out and you can’t even buy it.

So yes, Angela it is possible.  I see it every day.

In fact I’ll see people succeeding next week at jvAlert Live! Orlando. 

Someone will come up to me and tell me what an amazing four months it has been since jvAlert Live! San Diego.  They will tell me that the event changed their life and they will tell me that they have developed a product, grown their list and made sales.

But face it, everyone can’t come to jvAlert Live.

I try to help as many people as I can get there, because I don’t want anyone to NOT come to jvAlert Live! because of money.

By the way, if money IS the reason that you can’t buy a ticket, let me know and we will work something out.

But some people just can’t make it for LOTS of reasons, so what CAN you do?

It’s easy to get overwhelmed, but there are things you can do. 

I’ve said all this before, but it’s worth repeating. 

1. If you don’t have money, don’t buy ANYTHING.

You can get all the information that you need for free if you want to look for it.

2. Find someone that you like and trust that is doing what YOU want to do.

There are lots of amazing people doing amazing things — that you might not want to do in a million years!

But someone will be doing something interesting that you can see yourself doing so …

3. Watch what they do and then copy them.

Ok, not word for word idea for idea, but model what they are doing.  Find someone that you think is a good role model and try doing some of the things that they do.

4. See what kind of results you get.

Testing is important.  If people don’t measure what happens then they tend to not really be aware of what is actually working and what is not.  People who don’t pay attention, don’t get ahead.

5. Adjust what you are doing to see if you can get better results.

If you are getting bad results, try something a little different.  If you are getting good results try doing more of it.

6. Keep at it.

Lots of people give up right before the breakthrough.  If you can avoid it, don’t be one of them. 

I don’t mean that you should keep banging your head against a brick wall.  If something is not working then you have a choice to make.

You can do something a little different or something a LOT different.

Which you choose should probably depend on whether what you are doing is almost working, or not working at all.

If you almost have it, don’t change everything

If you do, you are back to ground one. 

If it’s not working at all, don’t keep doing it forever.

Remember, insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

That’s as simple as I can make it.  Of course it is easier to say than do and that part is up to you.

If you don’t actually DO something, all the learning in the world won’t help.

So …

Do something.
